I’ll be the first one to admit, last week kicked my butt. Between an overwhelming amount of school work and working, I had a bit of an anxiety attack and I don’t feel bad about it to be honest. Being a full time student while living on your own is really hard, and most of the time it feels impossible to get everything done.
Thankfully, my boyfriend (who isn’t a student) convinced me to take the weekend for myself and restart on Monday.
We decided to check out a local music festival that was happening in our area this weekend, Best of the Bayou. The festival was held in the heart of downtown Houma, and included local music, art and cuisine.
As fate would have it, my sister’s boss was one of the event sponsors, so we got VIP passes to all of the concerts!
I think that sometimes as students we get so wrapped up in school work that we lose focus on what’s important, our mental well being. So, here’s a big thank you to my significant other for knowing what I needed before I did!
After a weekend of decompressing, I’m ready to jump back in to the swing of things!
